Michael Koss

Head of Lighting Department

Michael Koss is a lighting professional with a passion for bringing visions to life. Shaped by a musical background in cello performance in his High School Symphony Orchestra, drumming with various bands in his home of Ann Arbor, Michigan, and attending concerts and festivals, Michael’s appreciation of live performance led him to a career in lighting where music, creativity, and technical ability collide.

Michael spent four years as a lighting designer at 20 Monroe Live in Grand Rapids, Michigan, in addition to years of freelance production and lighting work in venues and festivals throughout the state and regionally, and as touring LD for Michigan band The Accidentals. At Corporate Live, as a lighting engineer and project manager, he helped oversee corporate A/V projects and lighting production at Frederik Meijer Gardens Amphitheater.

Michael made the move to Music City in 2021, accepting a role at DCR Nashville where he takes pride in executing top tier lighting and video productions.
